Michael Jordan flu game

In game five of the 1997 NBA finals verses the Utah Jazz Michel Jordan got food poisoning or "the flu" after eating a pizza delivered to his hotel room the night before the game. He had a 101 degree fever and fatigue. Despite his mom and coaches telling him not to play, he decided to play because he knew that his team needed him if they wanted a chance to beat the Jazz after trailing in the series by a game. This was a must win game for the bulls and Michael Jordan was ready to give it his all. By the end of the game, the bulls had won, Michael Jordan had 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. He was deemed to have the flu and still had the best game out of all of his teammates. After the game Michael Jordan said "This was probably the most difficult thing I have ever done.". Throughout the game he had to go the the bench to rest and drink lots of water, he even had to go to the locker room at points to throw up because his stomach was so sick. Michael Jordan was able to persevere and over come his sickness in order for his team to win. This story should be seen and read by all athletes because it teaches you that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to and sometimes when you feel like you cannot play or perform you have to think about what best for your team and sacrifice yourself. This is a great example of putting your team first and I think all athletes can learn and gain some inspiration from this story and bring it to their team next time they play.
