Player spotlight: Spencer Rattler
Today's profile review is on Spencer Rattler, the former starting quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners. Before today many experts had Spencer Rattler in fifth place in the Heisman trophy voting. His odds to win the trophy were +3000, these were great odds going into the game as he was a starting quarterback to a prolific offense. To the surprise of many in todays game he got benched before half time because they were down 21 points. The back up quarterback was put into the game and to the surprise of many again he ran a 60 yard touchdown in. Since the back up outperformed Spencer today for the first time all season, his odds to win the Heisman are going to take a beating. Prior to today he was the best Quarterback in college football. In my opinion he still is, I think that is was just a bad week. My reasoning behind this is his overall all time Quarterback ranking is still over 150. For any player this is a really good rating, and coming off of a 28 Touchdown season I still see high hopes for Spencer. A lot of fans are jumping ship because he already has thrown 4 interceptions this season ( Which isn't too many honestly). Next week when he plays TCU (Texas Christian University), he will look to bounce back and lead the powerhouse known as the Oklahoma State offense to a huge win. Since his odds to win the Heisman trophy will significantly decrease after todays performance, I would recommend betting on him to win because I believe the outcome of todays game to be a fluke.
