How to: Sports betting edition
Happy Saturday people of the sports world, as you know we have a fresh slate of NFL games tomorrow for the first week of NFL football! Today I will be teaching you how to sports bet so you can use the knowledge from this article and win some money. First things first, if you live in Illinois and have not set up a mobile betting account with DraftKings, Fanduel, or the barstool sports book, you will have to go to an actual casino to start up your account. I use the barstool sports book because they give good odds boosts and other incentives, so I would recommend betting with their platform if you choose to sports bet. Once you have your account set up it's time to look at the odds. If a team is favorited to win, they will usually have a (-100) or a negative number next to their name. This means that if they are -235, you would have to bet $235 to win $100. If they are + 235 this means that they are under dogs and if you win $235 if you bet $100. They next thing you'll have to learn is the spread and what that means. If a team is favorited they will usually have a -5.5 or something close to it, this is handicap points. So, for example if you bet the bears to win at -5.5, they would have to win by at least 6 points for your bet to hit. If they were +5.5, they could still lose the game, but as long as it isn't by 5.5 points or more your bet would still hit. Since tomorrow kicks off the official NFL season, I will give you two winning team picks. I love the Miami Dolphins tomorrow to beat New England. Their odds are set at +160 for them to win. I will be taking that bet, and if you put $100 on it, you could win $160, so they pay out total would be $260! My last pick will be the Green Bay Packets -4, these odds are set at -105. This means they will have to win by more than 4 points for the bet to hit, and if you place $105 on it, you can win $100, so the total pay out will be $205. I like the Packers this week because the Saints their opposing team does not have a good quarter back, and the Packers offense is elite. Lastly, I like the dolphins because New England is starting a rookie as their quarterback, that they just drafted! He has no NFL expierence, and the Dolphins have a great offense. It will be a duel of the University of Alabama quarter backs and I am really excited to see who performs the best. Do what you will with this information, but you know where my money will be. - The Safe Sports Advisor..
